民國(guó)元年(公元1912年)，意大利雕刻師喬治受聘于天津造幣廠鐫刻模具，并由天津造幣廠鑄造了袁世凱著軍裝高櫻冠正面像中華民國(guó)共和紀(jì)念銀幣，民國(guó)二年(公元1913年)十月十日，袁世凱正式就任大總統(tǒng)，同時(shí)發(fā)行此幣。該幣設(shè)計(jì)考究，鑄工精良，傳世稀少，較為珍貴。
In the first year of the Republic of China (1912), Italian sculptor George was employed to carve the mould in Tianjin Mint. Yuan Shikai, dressed in military uniform and with a high cherry crown, was coined by Tianjin Mint. 此枚袁世凱像紀(jì)念幣直徑3.94厘米，重26.7克正面鐫袁世凱著軍裝高櫻冠正面像。反面珠圈內(nèi)鐫嘉禾圖案環(huán)；中間豎鐫“壹圓”兩字；珠圈外上環(huán)鐫“中華民國(guó)共和紀(jì)念幣”九字；下環(huán)鐫英文壹圓；左右鐫各一方形有內(nèi)四點(diǎn)外四點(diǎn)花飾。此幣材質(zhì)優(yōu)良，形制規(guī)整，成色均勻，老道純真，錢(qián)文飽滿，工整深俊。錢(qián)幣歷經(jīng)漫長(zhǎng)的歷史洗滌后，呈現(xiàn)出自然的包漿與銹色，異常精美，于嚴(yán)謹(jǐn)中透著秀氣，端莊中帶有質(zhì)樸古雅的氣韻美和結(jié)構(gòu)美，韻味濃郁，極具收藏價(jià)值。
