此件元代青花人物故事罐器型碩大敦厚，釉面呈元代獨(dú)有的灰白色，罐身采用開(kāi)光方法繪人物故事，線條流暢灑脫，人物形象形神兼?zhèn)洌嗔蠂?guó)產(chǎn)與蘇麻泥青混活使用，尤顯淡雅，胎體為元代典型的麻昌土，不失為一件元青花重器。

元青花，是采用鈷料在白色坯胎上繪紋飾后罩透明釉，再經(jīng)過(guò)高溫?zé)贫伞Ｔ小⑼砥诘那嗷ù善鳎蠖嘁孕〖魑锶缤搿⒈P、香爐、小罐、玉壺春瓶和大件器物如大罐、瓶等為主。小型器具大多胎質(zhì)細(xì)薄、以青白、乳白半透明為主。而大件器具則胎體厚重、色白致密、透明釉白中閃青、青花顏色亮麗明艷、紋飾層次豐富花樣精美為主。元青花便是以其鮮明的視覺(jué)效果，將青花繪畫藝術(shù)結(jié)合瓷器文化推向頂峰，開(kāi)創(chuàng)中國(guó)陶瓷裝飾之先河，給人以簡(jiǎn)明精致的快感。且因其距今歷史悠久，元代制瓷規(guī)模有限，青花精品瓷器出產(chǎn)有限，后因社會(huì)動(dòng)蕩等原因有外流有損毀現(xiàn)象。

此罐使用進(jìn)口鈷料繪出青花紋飾，罐身分別繪制青花山水樹(shù)木纏枝花卉、人物故事紋飾等，采用頸、肩、腹、脛四段分開(kāi)的裝飾手法。第一層為頸部的海水紋飾、第二層為肩部的纏枝牡丹、第三層為罐身主題紋飾人物故事畫，胡人手持利器畫。畫面局部還有樹(shù)木相襯托，情趣盎然，人物圖畫栩栩如生。第四層則是下部的仰蓮瓣，紋飾精美。
