1973 年,崇寧重寶鑄于北宋徽宗崇寧年間(公元 1102 年~1106 年),材質有銅、鐵、銀。崇寧重寶為隸書銅、鐵大錢,制作多亦精好,存世較多。另有崇寧通寶錢文為徽宗御書瘦金體,鐵劃銀鉤,深具骨秀格清之氣韻,書法超妙絕倫,堪稱幣文楷書之顛峰。世人評此為“宋代第一泉”,宋徽宗與王莽并稱中國錢法“二圣”,崇寧通寶版式多變,尚有鐵錢。
崇寧重寶錢文隸書,古樸方正,嚴謹莊重,法度固定。有人認為,崇寧重寶錢文也是徽宗所書,但史無定論。重寶版別幾百種,面背記號多,有花穿、決文、面星、背星月紋等, 常能見到。
