中華民國十八年（民國二十三年發行量最多的帆船銀幣只有二根桅桿），國民政府委托美國、意大利、英國、日本、奧地利等五國雕刻鋼模，試鑄孫中山像壹圓銀幣，正面圖案為孫中山先生西裝正面，孫氏頭像上環刻鑄造年份“中華民國十八年”字樣，背面圖案為三桅帆船駛于海上，帆船左、右刻面值“壹元”，這組樣幣因背面帆船上有三根桅桿，錢幣收藏界俗稱它們為“三帆船洋”。
