This coin is a bronze coin of the Qing Dynasty, which was made in the early years of the twentieth century.The foundry of mechanism copper round in Qing Dynasty began in Guangdong Province in 1900 (Guangxu 26 years). Governor Deshou of Guangdong and former Governor Li Hongzhang played a quasi-imitation of Hong Kong Tongxian foundry mechanism copper round.Comparing with square hole copper coin, machine-made copper round is finer in casting, more commercial and smooth in circulation.The following year, the Qing government ordered the coastal provinces along the Yangtze River to permit imitation casting.Later, all parts of the country started to cast copper round.
The copper coin of the Qing Dynasty in the year of Ding Weinian is a 20-character coin. The surface of the coin is naturally wrapped. 此枚錢幣為丁未年造的大清銅幣。清代機(jī)制銅圓的鑄造由廣東伊始，1900年（光緒二十六年），兩廣總督德壽與前總督李鴻章奏準(zhǔn)仿香港銅仙鑄造機(jī)制銅圓。機(jī)制銅圓較之方孔銅錢鑄造精良，市商樂用，流通順暢。次年，清政府即諭令沿江沿海各省準(zhǔn)許仿鑄。爾后，全國各地紛紛開機(jī)鑄造銅圓。
丁未年大清銅幣當(dāng)二十文錢幣，該錢幣表面的包漿自然，正面的字跡和背面的龍紋及英文字仍能保持清晰可見。極具收藏價(jià)值和觀賞性，升值空間也非常巨大。正面中央外環(huán)鑄“大清銅幣”及珠圈，左右有“丁未”二字；上緣鑄滿文，下緣鑄“當(dāng)制錢二十文”；背面中間為龍紋，外環(huán)鑄珠圈，外圈鑄英文紀(jì)地及漢文紀(jì)文“光緒年造”。錢幣雖小，也可管窺當(dāng)時(shí)社會(huì)文化及經(jīng)濟(jì)一斑，更凸顯當(dāng)時(shí)制造工藝的精湛，具有極高的文化價(jià)值、收藏價(jià)值和升值空間。
