斗笠碗盛行于宋、金時代，敞口、斜腹、小底足，倒置像斗笠，其口徑15.2厘米，足徑4.3厘米，高約5厘米。手工拉坯成型，底厚往上漸薄，器壁有拉坯時形成的輪指痕，圈足旋痕明顯，削足不過肩，足端平切，墻厚適中，內(nèi)墻稍外斜。
斗笠是田園生活的縮影，寧靜，安詳，流露著一股自由閑適，不由讓人心安，充滿向往。千百年來，精巧的斗笠杯碗也沾了斗笠的光，被古人賦予了一種逸然世外，天高云淡的道韻。甚至很多文人雅客認為用三才蓋碗泡茶、斗笠碗品茶，才能充分體會茶道的韻。如今尚存的茶道流派，都對斗笠碗用情頗深。
