Guangxu Yuanbao was one of the currencies circulated during the period of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty.Zhang Zhidong, governor of Guangdong and Guangdong provinces in Hubei, took the lead in introducing British coin machines to mint silver and copper yuan, which were followed by other provinces.There are nineteen provincial bureaus casting. Except for the central household department, the copper coins cast by local provinces are all inscribed on the upper margin of their fronts.The silver coin Guangxu Yuanbao was issued from 1898 to 1907, and its normal color was 89%-90%.There are inscriptions on the front, the top of which is "XX province-made" or "Mint General Factory", and the bottom of which is the value of money, such as "Kuping quarter four cents a dollar". The center reads the four words "Guangxu Yuan Bao" directly, and the center of which is the Manchu "Guangxu Yuan Bao".The top of the outer ring of the back of the silver coin is inscribed in the small standard English font "Made in XX Province" or "Mint General Factory". 光緒元寶是清朝光緒年間流通的貨幣之一。由湖北兩廣總督張之洞率先引進英國鑄幣機器鑄造銀元和銅元，之后各省紛紛仿效。共有十九個省局鑄造，除中央戶部，地方省所鑄銅元，皆在其正面上緣鐫寫省名。
銀幣光緒元寶1898年--1907發行，正常成色為89%-90%。正面鑄有銘文，頂部鑄楷體"XX省造"或"造幣總廠"，底部鑄貨幣價值如:"庫平一錢四分四厘"，中心直讀"光緒元寶"四字，幣中心為滿文"光緒元寶"。銀幣背面外圈頂部用小號英文標準字體銘"XX省造"或"造幣總廠"字樣，下面為英文貨幣價值，內圈鑄有中心為蟠龍圖，品相精致，其審美風格獨特。錢幣雖小，也可管窺社會文化一斑。
