西藏人骨制品俗稱嘎巴拉。其用材，一般由已獲圓滿報身有修為的藏族高僧在圓寂之后，將其頭骨，眉骨，指骨捐出以制作成特殊的法器！是密宗法器之一。神圣而莊嚴。是藏族最受尊重，崇敬的法器之一。

佛教中的密宗才用。密宗又叫真言宗，是中國佛教的宗派之一，流傳于西藏、青海等地，由于其在實踐中以高度組織化的咒術(shù)、禮儀，本尊信仰崇拜為特征，所以一直具有神秘主義的特征，其法器多用人骨，當然人嘎巴拉骨念珠所用人骨不是一般人都可以，它必須是喇嘛高僧的遺骨，我們知道西藏喇嘛死后流行天葬，把自己的尸體喂食給禿鷲，以達到世祖割股喂鷹的佛教境界，肉體已經(jīng)成為生靈的食物，骨頭便捐出來做法器，那么人骨念珠是用人體哪個部位的骨頭呢？最多則是指骨和眉骨，因為佛教講究因緣，僧人作法手指自然用得最多，而眼睛則是閱佛經(jīng)明世情的地方，這兩個部位可謂是最有因緣，是具有悟性的骨骼，當然可以成為開啟后人之智的法器，手指骨做成的念珠一般來說較為容易，一般一副念珠十個手指的骨骼便可制作而成,而眉骨是比較硬的，所以一副念珠可能要用十幾位高僧的眉骨制作而成，試想小小的念珠競有十幾位高僧的因緣在里面，對于一個佛教徒來說那將是多么珍貴，而且人骨念珠的制作十分復(fù)雜，因為全是手工制作而成，所以僧人要擁有非常高技藝的，每天還要磨出其光澤，這樣可能要用十幾年的時間，同時要湊足一副念珠所有的眉骨，需要等十幾位高僧圓寂，這樣一來可能一副念珠需要花去五、六十年，甚至一百年……

Therefore, a rosary may need to be made from the brow bones of more than a dozen eminent monks. imagine how precious it would be for a Buddhist to have a small rosary competing with the brow bones of more than a dozen eminent monks. moreover, the making of human bone rosary is very complicated, because it is all hand-made, so monks need to have very high skills and polish their luster every day. it may take more than ten years, and at the same time, they need to wait for more than a dozen eminent monks to die. in this way, a rosary may take 50, 60, or even 100 years ...
此嘎巴拉便是清代諸多高僧捐獻頭骨，眉骨及指骨積累而成，百年成器，最有緣，最具悟性的骨骼，聚會與此，及其珍貴。

念珠108 顆 表示求證百八三昧, 斷除一百零八種煩惱, 一百零八種煩惱六根為： (眼, 耳,鼻, 舌, 身, 意) 各有苦、樂、舍三受, 合為十八種, 六根各有好、惡、平三種, 合為十八種, 共三十六種, 再以前世，今世，來世三世合成一百零八種煩惱。
