貴州汽車銀幣”俗稱“汽車銀幣”、“汽車銀元”，簡稱“車板”，國外稱AUTO DOLLAR。該銀幣以汽車為圖案，這在中國錢幣史獨一無二。民國十七年(1928年)，貴州省省道貴陽至桐梓公路竣工通車。1928年5月，時任貴州省政府主席周西成，特命貴州造幣廠鑄造發(fā)行貴州汽車銀幣，以示紀念，并借鑄造發(fā)行貴州汽車銀幣，擺脫財政困難。汽車銀幣鑄造發(fā)行約八千枚。
1927年4月，周西成批準在貴陽市大南門外華家紙廠籌設造幣廠。7月，造幣廠派專人赴鎮(zhèn)購置造幣設備，正式開工鑄造銀元。

貴州銀幣在市面上市場價值很高。它的汽車圖案是貴州的第一輛汽車，是周西成從香港購來的美國福特牌敞篷汽車。由于貴州沒有公路，這輛汽車是拆散后，人挑馬馱運入的。銀幣上的汽車圖案即以此車為原形。用汽車作銀幣圖案，是近代銀幣中絕無僅有的，它與光緒龍、大清龍以及以人物為圖案的近代銀幣相比，確是獨出新裁而很受時人喜歡。使用了兩種貨幣單位。即采用貨幣"元"單位，又使用已經廢止了的清末貨幣單位"七錢二分"，這在民國銀幣中也是僅見的現(xiàn)象。

貴州汽車銀幣，錢幣正面珠圈內鑄“貴州銀幣”，四字中心鐫芙蓉花圖案，小巧別致，十分漂亮；珠圈外上環(huán)書“中華民國十七年”，下環(huán)鑄壹圓”，左右兩端飾小花。錢幣背面珠圈內為草地、汽車圖案，紋飾線條流暢，紋理優(yōu)雅，所繪的汽車活靈活現(xiàn)，栩栩如生，仿佛就在眼前一般，十分震撼；珠圈外上環(huán)為“貴州省政府造”，下環(huán)記重“七錢二分”，左右兩邊飾有星花紋飾。該銀幣以汽車為圖案，這在中國錢幣史獨一無二。在我國已知發(fā)行的近千種老銀幣中，“汽車銀幣”因圖案特殊，鑄造量少，流通面窄，存世稀少等，早已是幣中。存世稀少，早已是幣中精品錢幣，素有‘銀幣之王’的美譽。獲得眾多收藏家及買家青睞，亦擁有此錢幣為傲。
