背景——光緒二十四年(1898年)開鑄，四川省造幣廠鑄行，有七錢二分、三錢六分、一錢四分四厘 、七分二厘、三分六厘五等。根據幣面書體不同而分楷書、行書兩類。另有英文字母錯版、大頭龍燈、小頭龍藏、四角龍、無頭庫等。光緒二十五年(1899年)清廷整頓各地造幣廠，令四川所需銀元向湖北省銀元局搭鑄，該幣一度停鑄。光緒二十七年(1901年)重新開鑄，至光緒三十四年(1908年)止。
