中華人民共和國(guó)元帥，是中國(guó)國(guó)家最高軍銜。

1955年2月8日，中華人民共和國(guó)第一屆全國(guó)人民代表大會(huì)常務(wù)委員會(huì)第六次會(huì)議通過(guò)《中國(guó)人民解放軍軍官服役條例》，中國(guó)人民解放軍全面實(shí)行軍銜制。條例規(guī)定，中國(guó)人民解放軍軍官軍銜共分4等16級(jí)。
同年9月27日，全國(guó)人大常委會(huì)第二十二次會(huì)議通過(guò)了授予中華人民共和國(guó)元帥軍銜的決議。毛澤東主席向朱德、彭德懷、林彪、劉伯承、賀龍、陳毅、羅榮桓、徐向前、聶榮臻、葉劍英10人授予了中華人民共和國(guó)元帥軍銜。
