光緒元寶是清朝光緒年間流通的貨幣之一。由湖北兩廣總督張之洞率先引進英國鑄幣機器鑄造銀元和銅元，之后各省紛紛仿效。共有十九個省局鑄造，除中央戶部，地方省所鑄銅元，皆在其正面上緣鐫寫省名。計有：1戶部;2北洋;12湖北;7江南;15河南; 11湖南;14江西;9山東;8廣東;5清江;6浙江;13四川; 10福建;17安徽;3吉林;4奉天;18廣西;19新疆;20黑龍江。
Guangxu Yuanbao was one of the currencies circulated during the period of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty. Zhang Zhidong, governor of Guangdong and Guangdong provinces in Hubei, took the lead in introducing British coin machines to mint silver and copper yuan, which were followed by other provinces. There are nineteen provincial bureaus casting. Except for the central household department, the copper coins cast by local provinces are all inscribed on the upper margin of their fronts. 此枚北洋34年長尾龍配短尾云，銀幣正面中央珠圈內(nèi)鐫滿漢文“光緒元寶”四個字，珠圈外上端鐫漢文“北洋造”，下端鐫漢文幣值“庫平七錢二分”，左右兩端各鐫一個圓點。銀幣背面中央鐫蟠龍圖，上環(huán)鐫英文“光緒34年”下鐫英文“北洋”，左右兩端稍下側(cè)各鐫一個圓點。光緒元寶是清朝光緒年間流通的貨幣之一。共有十九個省局鑄造，除中央戶部，地方省所鑄銅元。是首批引進海外技術(shù)的印發(fā)流通貨幣，對于現(xiàn)今也蘊藏了一定歷史意義。極具收藏價值。
The 34-year-old Beiyang dragon is equipped with a short tail cloud. The four words "Guangxu Yuanbao" in Chinese are inscribed on the front of the silver coin in the central bead circle. The upper end of the bead circle is inscribed with the Chinese word "Beiyang Made", while the lower end is inscribed with the Chinese value of "Kuping Qian Bian", with a dot at each end. The central dragon picture on the back of the silver coin, the English "Guangxu 34 years" on the upper ring and the English "Beiyang" on the lower side, each with a dot at the left and right ends. Guangxu Yuanbao was one of the currencies circulated during the period of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty. There are nineteen provincial bureaus casting, except the central household department, local provinces casting copper yuan. It is the first circulation currency to import overseas technology, which has certain historical significance for today. It has great collection value.

清代機制銅圓的鑄造由廣東伊始，1900年(光緒二十六年)，兩廣總督德壽與前總督李鴻章奏準仿香港銅仙鑄造機制銅圓。機制銅圓較之方孔銅錢鑄造精良，市商樂用，流通順暢。次年，清政府即諭令沿江沿海各省準許仿鑄。爾后，全國各地紛紛開機鑄造銅圓。
The foundry of mechanism copper round in Qing Dynasty began in Guangdong Province in 1900 (Guangxu 26 years). Governor Deshou of Guangdong and former Governor Li Hongzhang played a quasi-imitation of Hong Kong Tongxian foundry mechanism copper round. Comparing with square hole copper coin, machine-made copper round is finer in casting, more commercial and smooth in circulation. The following year, the Qing government ordered the coastal provinces along the Yangtze River to permit imitation casting. Later, all parts of the country started to cast copper round.

此枚“光緒戊申一文”銅元，為黃銅材質(zhì)，比人民幣一分硬幣還小一圈，厚度也只有一分硬幣的一半。光緒三十四年一月，諭令各省鑄當十銅元之外，搭鑄三成一文銅元。同年，各省局依照度支部所定的成色、形式制造。“甯”通“寧”，清代江寧(今南京市)的簡稱,說明此錢是江寧府局鑄造，該銅幣一般正面中間均鈐省名，外圍鈐‘光緒’，下鈐‘一文’，左右分鈐‘戊申’，背面鈐蟠龍圖。此種銅元在光緒時期中鑄造極少，蘊含收藏價值極高。
This "Guangxu Wushen" copper yuan is made of brass, which is one circle smaller than RMB penny and half as thick as a penny. In January of the thirty-fourth year of Guangxu, it was decreed that all provinces should cast ten copper yuan and three to one penny of copper yuan. In the same year, the provincial bureaus manufactured in accordance with the fineness and form prescribed by the Du Branch. "Yong" Tong "Ning", short for Jiangning in Qing Dynasty (now Nanjing City), shows that the money was cast by Jiangning Government Bureau.
Generally, the copper coin has the provincial name of Jun in the middle, the outer Jun'Guangxu', the lower Jun'Yiwen', the left and right Jun'Wushen', and the back Junlong map. This kind of copper yuan was rarely cast in Guangxu period, and it has high collection value.
