藏品詳情：據相關史料記載，清代咸豐年間（1851-1861年），當時正值太平天國農民起義運動，這一運動發展迅速，天平天國政府迅速在江蘇南京建都，所以當時清政府賴以鑄錢的滇銅就因為道路的阻斷而無法運進北京。鎮壓起義急需大量的軍餉開銷，但是由于道路阻斷，鑄錢的原材料卻是十分緊缺，這給清政府造成了嚴重的財政困難，最終迫使清政府自咸豐三年開始發行紙幣和改鑄大錢來彌補財政虧空。咸豐元寶當千錢幣就是在這樣的大背景下產生的。  

每個封建王朝的皇帝在位期間，都發行了極具年代性的、代表性的錢幣來作為商品交易或者買賣的交換工具。隨著歷史的流轉，這些錢幣的使用價值逐漸消逝而呈現出極高的收藏價值，備受錢幣愛好者的青睞。
