廣東人向有使用銀毫的傳統。廣東人俗稱小銀幣為銀毫(毫銀),廣東話“一毫”即“一毛”之意,因此稱呼二角、一角、五分面值小銀幣為“二毫、一毫、半毫”銀毫。廣東銀幣又稱廣東省造銀元,泛指廣東鑄錢廠生產的各種面值銀元。廣東鑄錢廠原為廣東錢局,后改為戶部轄度支部造幣廠廣東分廠。由光緒年間開始生產銀幣一直到民國年間生產了數十種不同面值的銀元和銀幣。辛亥革命后,廣東造幣廠將舊幣(龍洋)收回改鑄“中華民國貳毫銀幣”,設計簡潔,重一錢四分四厘,成色銀七銅三。

此四枚一組中華民國廣東省造貳毫銀幣銀幣,圖文深邃,紋飾精美,十分美觀。錢幣正反面皆以珠圈將幣面分為兩部分,珠圈內鑄刻楷書“貳毫銀幣”字樣,上下右左分列其中,字體端莊工整,正中央有凸起圓點。珠圈外上端鑄刻“中華民國七/八/九/十年”六字,左右以小花飾之,雅致活潑,下端鑄“廣東省造”四字,字跡清晰,挺拔秀美。錢幣背面同樣珠圈內鑄刻阿拉伯數字“20”紀值,珠圈外上端鐫刻“廣東省”英文字樣,左右同正面相同刻小花飾之,下端鑄有英文幣值,此組藏品品相完好,形制規整,質地優良,字體筆法流暢,紋飾刻制工細。這種小面額銀幣本原就存世量稀少,而此組藏品包含民國七、八、九和十年連續四年所鑄貳毫銀幣,實屬難得,極具欣賞價值、研究價值和收藏價值。
These four pieces are a group of cheap silver coins made in Guangdong Province of the Republic of China. The pictures and texts are profound, the decorations are exquisite and very beautiful. The face of the coin is divided into two parts by bead circle on both sides. Inside the bead circle, the inscription of regular script "Bian Million Silver coin" is inscribed, which is divided into upper, lower, right and left sides. The font is dignified and neat, with a raised dot in the center. The upper end of the bead circle is engraved with the words "Republic of China 7/8/9/10", which are decorated with small flowers. The lower end is engraved with the words "made in Guangdong Province". The handwriting is clear and elegant. The back of the coin is also engraved with the Arabic numeral "20" period in the bead circle. The upper end of the bead circle is engraved with the English words "Guangdong Province".
