藏品簡介：古代用作燒炭取暖的青銅器。傳世和考古發現的數量都不多，時代多屬春秋戰國。形狀象盤子，一般為圓形或長方形。如1956年河南信陽1號楚墓出土的一件圓形銅爐，下附三足，腹兩側有兩條長鏈，爐內還存有放置的木炭。長方形爐器身每邊多附環耳。有的爐在發現時還附有銅漏鏟，可能是用來鏟炭的。
大明宣德爐是明代工藝品中的珍品，宣德爐的鑄造成功，開了后世銅爐的先河，在很長一段歷史中，宣德爐成為銅香爐的通稱。
大明宣德爐的基本形制是敞口、方唇或圓唇，頸矮而細，扁鼓腹，三鈍錐形實足或分襠空足，口沿上置橋形耳或了形耳或獸形耳，銘文年款多于爐外底，與宣德瓷器款近似。
