坐洋幣又稱法屬印度支那貿易銀圓，亦稱安南銀元。而所謂貿易銀圓，就是一些老牌帝國主義國家為了發展殖民地貿易而發行的銀幣，坐洋幣就是其中之一。1858年，法蘭西第二帝國入侵安南（今越南），1884年，強迫安南簽訂第二次《順化條約》，安南淪為法國殖民地，為了發展殖民地貿易經濟，法西蘭第二帝國于1885年開始鑄造坐洋幣，至1928年共計43年。

此組兩枚坐洋幣，發行年份分別為1898年及1899年，年份相連，十分難得，作為一組，實屬罕見。銀幣保存完好，鑄造精美。正面主圖為手執束棒的自由女神坐像，坐像的兩側鑄法文文字是：REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE（法蘭西共和國）。女神座下方有小字法文BARRE和該幣發行的年份1898年/1899年。銀幣背面主圖案為一花環，周圈為說明文字，花環上方鑄法文為：FRANCAISE INDO-CHINE（法蘭西印度支那），銀幣花環中間的橫向文字為銀幣的面額：PIASTRE DE COMMERCE(皮阿斯特的貿易銀)。銀幣花環下方文字為：TITRE 0.900 POIDS 27 GR。整組錢幣正面希臘自由女神坐像立體感極強，細節精致。所飾花紋線條深刻有力，磨損較小。包漿熟舊，歷史感強。藏品乃當年外幣，極具研究價值與收藏意義。
