此藏品為同治皇帝福建恭進銀元，此種銀元由于不屬流通幣，所以流入民間極為稀少，現在的市場上更為罕見。

清代在鑄幣上的一個歷史文化是上下五千年錢幣史的重要部分。同治十二年（1873年）同治帝親政，同治十三年（1875年）一月十二日崩于皇宮養心殿，終年19歲，是清朝十二帝中壽命最短的。而“福建恭進同治皇帝”銀幣發生在兩次戰爭以后的1866-1867年間，也就是同治皇帝登基以后五、六年的光景，并沒有正式發行和流通。它的出世，只是曇花一現，尤顯珍貴。
