此幣鑄于光緒三十一年(1905)初，為紀(jì)念慈禧七十壽辰而鑄。張炯伯在《廣東省造銀幣》一文中寫道：“惟本品因未紀(jì)年，殊難遽斷，然觀其圖案，諧作福壽，環(huán)繞雙龍，幕無英文，意含頌祝，大異常制。由此以推，成為紀(jì)念幣之一種，專鑄以祝慈禧太后七旬萬壽者也。藏品正面光緒元寶”，珠圈外上環(huán)鑄楷體“廣東省造”四字，底部鑄貨幣價(jià)值：“庫平重壹兩”，邊上各有一朵四瓣花，中心為滿文“光緒元寶”
