孫像鎳幣是法幣的輔幣，正面為孫中山先生側面像和民國紀年，背面為布幣圖及面值。該輔幣1936年開鑄，至1943年停鑄，于1949年退出流通，因國民政府未加以充分回收，現今存世量很大。進入收藏市場后，成交價低廉，加之書刊雜志宣傳少，泉友們對這類鎳輔幣始終不屑一顧，長期被市場邊緣化，屬極冷門品種。筆者前后花費了3年時間，才收集到曾流通過的全套僅21種版式的孫像鎳幣(試鑄未流通鎳幣除外)。在此，筆者就孫像鎳幣的產生背景、鑄幣歷程及一些鮮為人知的歷史事件。21年雙帆幣是國民政府放棄金本位幣制、確定銀本位幣制，公布“鑄造條例草案”前夕發行的第一種“船洋”銀幣，曾被財政部定為國幣。銀幣正面中央鐫孫中山側面頭像，上邊緣鐫“中華民國二十一年”八字，背面是雙帆船放洋圖，船兩側鐫楷書“壹元”各一字，船帆上面鐫三鳥高飛，船的右側海面上鐫海上日出和九條芒線。銀幣正式發行流通后，因為銀幣背面圖案中的太陽和高飛的三鳥容易使人聯想到侵略中國的日本和日本戰機轟炸中國領土之意，所以“三鳥幣”開始鑄造不久就停鑄了。“三鳥幣”鑄造時間短，鑄額小，傳世稀少。
